Rehearsals are starting in Bristol this week!
Getting back into the rehearsal room in November always marks the start of Christmas for a theatre company. As the days get shorter and the air grows crisper, we are so excited to be back. Our cast & crew are ready to embark on a journey through dark forests, puppetry, gingerbread houses, live music and, of course you’ve got to have a bit of snow at Christmas!
This year, we are thrilled to welcome new faces to the creative team. Niamh Percy will be joining us as Production & Stage Manager –
Niamh is a Bristol based production and stage manager who has worked across theatre, comedy, dance and music. Previous companies she has worked with include The Wardrobe Theatre, Bristol School of Acting, Second Hand Dance, Sydney Opera House and the Ensemble Theatre to name a few.
We’re also lucky to have a new Assistant Director on board this year; Megan Vaughn-Thomas –
Megan is a director, theatre maker and actor, with a focus on devising and collaborative creation.
She trained in Physical Theatre and Movement at Ecole Jacques Lecoq, Paris and at Circomedia, Bristol. Megan has developed her own work since 2010, touring extensively across the UK and Europe.
Recent credits include: Beautiful Evil Things (Ad Infinitum- Associate Director), Until I find You, Last Rites, If You Fall (Ad Infinitum- Dramaturgical Support) A Night in the Woods (Assistant Director- Tobacco Factory Theatres) Oedipus in Boots (Assistant Director- The Wardrobe Theatre), Hansel and Gretel (Hansel – Nottingham Playhouse) and Igloo (Ira- Traveling Light Theatre)
Megan & Niamh have already been working closely behind the scenes with our director Alex, along with the rest of the creative team. It’s been fantastic to have them as part of the team so far, and we are excited to have their support and collaboative input during the rehearsal process.
We look forward to sharing more news and pictures and the rehearsals go on – and we can’t wait to get get the show back onto the Tobacco Factory stage for Christmas this year.
It was fantastic! It had such a beautiful joy & level of fun that only live theatre can create, and I left feeling heartened and festive.
