We are pleased to announce 4 digital commissions responding by past and present collaborators with NIE. Online by January, these varied commissions suitable for ages 6 -11, will allow young people and their families to watch, listen or participate remotely.
The commissions are:
- A playful film with clowning and puppetry exploring the theme of facing our fears in the world. Inspired by Maya Angelou’s children’s book Life Doesn’t Frighten Me (Julia Masli & Viggo Venn).
- Part spoken, part song with folk music, a fairytale exploring from personal experience the idea of gender and what it means growing up (Elliot Davies and Kieran Edwards).
- Animation and music exploring the story of Hamlet, linked to the live performance version (Rachana Jadhav).
- Interactive film (with performance, music and illustrations) exploring people and items of meaning in a young person’s world (Sara Lessore, Greg Hall and Samantha Sutherland)
