"“Brothers & Sisters shine a light on the importance of a dialogue beyond the shallow reflection, and offers an optimistic view on how relations can survive in the darkest times.”"
— Periskop
Brothers & Sisters is a performance based on young people’s experiences about dealing with mental health issues.
Four friends meet up to reconstruct why their friendship fell apart when they were 15. The performance is devised from documentary material from young people that have experienced mental health issues or have supported friends and family that have.
Drawing on the audience feedback from the NIE classic Museum of Memories we have developed our performance Brothers & Sisters – a performance based on young people’s experiences about dealing with mental health issues.
The performance is made for ages 14+ and is devised from documentary material from young people that have experienced mental health issues or have supported friends and family that have. NIE always device performances based on real stories from real people. The signature of a NIE performance is a total theatre experience, where the overall expression have elements of visual theatre, songs, music, clown and storytelling.
In Brothers & Sisters the set and light design play an important role of rooms that are transparent and closed at the same time. The music and the songs are composed for the performance by Helder Deploige to both comment and support the narrative and the actions of the play.
