NIE’s main focus over the last 22 years has been to explore the ideas of identity, norms and history based on documentary sources. In our  project Now We Are Here we have moved into the grounds of what once was Northern Europe’s most modern Mental Hospital, and that later became one of Norway’s largest asylum centers. Now the property is out for sale to become a luxurious housing area.

The performance is based on Dikemark’s history, as well as stories from people who have come to Norway for various reasons and are now starting a new life here.
