"Just what the children desperately need"

— Primary School Teacher

Our co-creation project focused on lockdown in Cambridge.

In the summer of 2021 we worked with Milton Road and The Galfrid primary schools on our co-creation project Tales From the Edge of Town. 12 workshops were held with the schools, getting the young people to write fantastical stories focused on their experience of being in lockdown.

These stories were then taken away by professional actors and turned into a 45 minute show. This culminated in 1 week residencies in our Mongolian Yurt set up at Milton Road and The Galfrid, where the young people got to watch their stories performed back to them. Overall, 500+ young people took part over the 2 weeks.

Supported through Cambridge City Council Community grant, Awards for all and the Marshall Community First Fund managed by the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation.
