Take Part in Norway

We work with narratives about the times we live in with a main focus on youth and young adults. Our aim is to bring people together to either take part in an artistic process or in our teaching. We give workshops, co-create and perform with children, youth and young adults. While working with us you get the tools you need to make theatre. Have a look at some of our Recent Projects.

This is Asker!

Since 2015 we have run weekly workshops in two asylum centers in Asker where the main aim is to use theatre as a tool for integration.

The participants are in the age 3 – 70 years, and we run workshops, programme, performances and have concerts for and with the people living in the center.

The people living in the asylum center come from all over the world. Some stay there for a short period, and some have stayed there for more than 15 years. Some will later live in the municipality, and some will have to leave the country. With our work we want to give the inhabitants equal possibilities to integrate in the society until their future life is decided.

Most of the activities are run in the center, but we also give some public performances with the inhabitants or visit other cultural activities.

Work in Schools

An important part of NIE’s work is the sharing of our ideas and working methods. This happens through school performances, post-show discussions, workshops and lectures. We feel it adds to the experience of the performance and helps students to understand what making and performing an NIE show is all about.

In Norway we visit around 150 schools every year to perform, give workshops and talk backs. This is made possible through the national program DKS and NIE is part of the repertoire of Norsk Scenekunstbruk.
