As part of our Tales co-creation project we ran a February half term workshop with young people in Cambridge. The group spent the day working with Hilary Cox-Condron, Greg Hall, Lizzie Hobbs and John Harmer; through various activities they were inspired to create visual artwork, animations and music recordings.

With the support of Abbey People, this session built on weekly workshops we have been holding with pupils from The Galfrid and Ridgefield Schools in Cambridge this term. Some of the outputs of the session, and the weekly schools art club sessions, will be included in our Once Upon a Time in Fenland show which will be touring in Fenland and wider Cambridgeshire this summer.

“The project has been powerful in showing them they do have a contribution to make.”

– Headteacher, The Galfrid School.

We are continually raising funds to challenge unequal access to creative and cultural education opportunities for children and young people, and to be able to keep this activity free at the post of access.
