This year we have two Christmas Shows out and about - Introducing the Cast of Grand Soft Day!
We are thrilled to present our first ever early years show has been co-produced with Branar theatre in Ireland. A Gorgeous seasonal show for 2-6 year olds, it will play at the O’Donoghue Centre for Drama in Galway this December in advance of it’s tour to Broadway in January 2024.
We are excited to introduce you to the cast:
Helen Gregg – Performer
Originally from Northern Ireland, Helen trained in theatre both there and in France and has been based in Galway, on the west coast of Ireland, for many years. She has worked with Branar for over ten years, creating theatre and music shows for young audiences, and touring nationally and internationally with them. She is an actor, a writer, and a singer, and has performed on stages, on screens and on streets all over the world.
Jonathan Gunning – Performer
Jonathan began his career as an award-winning stand-up comedian. He then studied acting at École Jacques Lecoq in Paris. He had a great time. Since then, he has worked in many different modes; as street performer, clown, storyteller, and as a stage actor at The Abbey Theatre in Dublin with Arrah na Pogue, and The Government Inspector. He has trice played a tree. His film and television credits include Andor, Game of Thrones, Vikings, and the upcoming SEIZE THEM! Jonathan has toured 7 shows with Branar and thinks that they are the bees’ knees.
Greg Hall – Performer/Composer
Greg Hall is a composer, sound designer, musician, and performer.
Theatre credits include Beauty & The Beast (NIE), I Will Be Everything (NIE), Cupboard of Surprises (The National Theatre), Peter Pan (The Northcott Theatre) Elegy For A Lady (The Salisbury Playhouse), My Brother, My Sister and Me (Polka Theatre) and Luna(Theatr Iolo/Theatre Hullabaloo).
Greg is a member of Minima, one of Europe’s leading silent film accompaniment bands. He has had compositions featured on film and television worldwide, including on Shane Meadow’s ‘Le Donk & Scor-Zay-Zee’ (Warp Films).
He has also worked as an ethnomusicologist for the British Library.
Linda Scaramella – Performer
Linda is an actor, writer, and singer who recently graduated from Drama St Mary’s in 2021. She is looking forward to touring this show, Grand Soft Day, and is particularly excited about performing in New York for the first time.
Her recent work includes filming a commercial for the health insurance company Vitality. She has done a lot of work with the Unfinished Histories project which is an organisation that records and educates the history of Alternative Theatre. Reading Twice Over, Any Women Can and Chiaroscuro. Some more filmed work includes a comedy sketch called That’s Hot written by Laura Power and directed by Valentina Ceschi submitted to various international comedy short festivals.
