We are delighted to announce our new large scale Community Project - Our UK team will be starting work on 'Legends of the Fen' in January 2024!
We are delighted to share the news that we have been awarded an Arts Council England National Lottery Project Grant to help us deliver our Legends of the Fen project. This will be an adaptation of our previous ‘Tales from the Edge of Town’ workshops – Pairing artists with school children to explore and develop their creative writing skills.
This project will tour to Wisbech, Ramsey & March in the UK, and with the help of partners we will explore the history of the Fens. Our artists will run workshops to encourage children to discover more about their local area, and create their own stories about the area in which they live.
Following the workshops we will collate the children’s work into a published book, and our team of performers will create a show using their tales. We will tour this show across the Fens in June 2024, performing in our Mongolian Yurt to the children and their communities.
We are excited to start work with some fantastic parter organisations in January, to bring this project to life:
20Twenty productions
March based organisation supporting children and young people through a constantly evolving range of creative learning, well-being and social action projects delivered in schools and the community.
Ramsey Neighbourhood Trust
RNT wants to provide sustainable development in Ramsey Parish by being a resource for the community to enable local people to improve the place in which they live and work.
Wisbech & Fenland Museum
An independent charity-run museum, Wisbech is one of the oldest purpose-built museums in the United Kingdom. They will be providing some of their choice artefacts for the children to explore, offering a wide range of ways to learn and engage with their collections.
Along with Fenland District & Wisbech Town Councils & local schools.
